The Brontë Sisters
The three Brontë sisters Charlotte (b 1816) Emily (b 1818) and Anne (b 1810) were all born in the village of Thornton in Yorkshire. They spent most of their lives not far away at Haworth where their father was vicar and they were largely educated at home. In an age where creative work by women was almost unheard of, all three achieved their goal of becoming successful novelists. This film by Malcolm Hossick covers their interesting lives and their remarkable development as writers. It is followed by a brief overview of their work. 2nd ed 2020 dur:32'37"
